March Lecture with Dr. Carole Bucy
On March 6th, Dr. Carole Bucy will be joining us for two events discussing the impacts of Lafayette's visit to Nashville and Middle Tennessee. At noon, there will be a lunch and learn session. This session is free to attend with a suggested donation to Travellers Rest and you can bring your own lunch to enjoy while hearing from Dr. Bucy. In the evening, Dr. Bucy will once again be speaking on Lafayette, and at this session charcuterie and refreshments will be provided.
Carole Bucy is no stranger to Nashville and Tennessee’s history community. In her career, she has given history talks to local organization as well as organizations across the Tennessee. She serves in the honorary position of the Davidson County Historian and was named in the Fall 2022, as the Distinguished University Professor at Cumberland University. She is also Professor Emeritus at Volunteer State Community College, where she taught Tennessee History for 27 years. She holds degrees in history from Baylor University, Peabody College, and Vanderbilt University where she earned a PhD in U. S. History, 30 years after earning her Master’s Degree.
