Archaeology Days:
$15- adults (over 13)

$10- children (5 – 13)

$40  Family tickets (2 adults + up to 3 children)

This September, in recognition of Archaeology Month, we are providing an opportunity for guests to participate in a mock excavation using items from our surface collection on two scheduled Archaeology Days. Participants will also get to learn how to properly clean found artifacts and hear a story from Cherokee oral tradition.  Additionally, our resident archaeologist, Sarah Durham, will showcase rarely displayed items from our prehistoric collection before guests get to create their own gorget to take home.

Scheduled dates are September 12 and 26 from 9:30 – 3:30. Those wishing to participate will need to reserve tickets online. The entire program will last approximately 2 hours, and we welcome you to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds before or after your scheduled program.

The program will have timed tickets with sessions beginning every half hour and will follow a small group station structure to ensure guest safety and social distancing.  Time slots will be limited to 10 people (children and adults) per entry time.  We encourage families that want to attend together to book as a group for discounted pricing! Pricing: $15- adults (over 13), $10- children (5 – 13), family tickets (2 adults + up to 3 children) $40; Educator and Archaeology professional price – $12 per adult
